I agree, it does seem like idle words and chatter, that's why I'm not so sure about it. I just feel that it would be more heartfelt if you actually came up with it.

I dont like it! The first thing I think of is the scripture about not using Idle words and chatter. Maybe I just dont have a complete understanding of the application but I think prayer is intimate and personal. Love and Faith work together, how do we say were praying when the request is generated by something that has neither. I dont know.. not a fan of this idea personally.

Laura,

Thanks for the comment. I think you have some very good points. I think anything that leads you to further prayer is good but like you said, God doesn't want recited prayer.

Jeff, this is very interesting. I've been thinking about this some today and didn't think it was a bad thing to have prayer suggestions. Then I looked at the article and noticed they have a 'script' for prayer. That does seem a little weird.

I have been going through a devotional that has a scripted prayer at the end of each day, and I don't have a problem with it because it leads me into further prayer time on my own. It's a guide to get me started. I think if the prayer app is taken as a tool to help with suggestions of what to pray for, then your prayer life could grow using this app. There is just always some risk in getting tied down to what the app says and not speaking from your heart. God doesn't want you to recite a script, but if the script can help you grow in your prayer life, then I'm sure it's a good thing.
